The opportunity for Special Olympics York County athletes to train and compete in sports activities at the local and state levels is supported entirely by local financial contributions from generous individuals, companies, and organizations. We receive no direct financial support from either government agencies or from the state or national Special Olympics governing bodies.
Our major fundraiser is the annual Polar Bear Plunge in February. Several local organizations also run independent fundraisers on our behalf. The program also benefits from numerous “in-kind” donations and discounts from local businesses and sports venues. The balance of our annual financial support comes from donations from our friends in the York community.
Donation checks may be mailed to:

United Way workplace donations can also be directed to the Special Olympics York County program through the United Way “Donor Choice” option. Just fill in our name and address, and a designated donation amount on the annual United Way pledge form.
